MH Vehicle Registration
The government prohibits the usage of unregistered vehicles in the state. Regardless of whether the motor vehicle is registered in another Indian state, it must be registered in Maharashtra before it can be driven on the road.
The vehicle can be registered immediately through the dealer by including the registration information on their trade certificate. The vehicle can then be brought to the Motor Vehicle Inspector for inspection. After completing all of the procedures, the vehicle can be granted a new registration number.
Requirements for the MH Transport Registration
- Form 20: It used for RTO registration of a new vehicle
- Form 21: It must be submitted along with the sales certificate. The dealer who sold the motor vehicle to the owner must supply these.
- Form 22A: It should include the manufacturer’s declaration of conformity with pollution and safety regulations, as well as roadworthiness.
- A manufacturer’s certificate is also necessary if the vehicle to be registered is a carriage.
- If the vehicle is a caravan, the Transport Commissioner must approve the vehicle’s design.
- If the car was purchased with a lifetime tax, the purchase documentation is necessary.
- Two copies of the PAN or Form 60 must be submitted for all vehicles excluding two-wheelers.
- If a person buys a tractor or a caravan, the Tahsildar Certificate can be used for tax exemption.
- If the car was purchased outside of the state, tax payment documentation is necessary.

Transferring Ownership of a Registered Vehicle in Another State to Maharashtra
If the vehicle has been brought to Maharashtra from any other state or registration of a new mark is required, application for it is supposed to be done through Form 20 and Form 26.
The following are the other required documents-
- Form 33: If the owner intends to change the address, they have to fill out this form.
